Banana bread

Banana bread is my family’s favorite dessert. Whenever we have bananas that are starting to turn brown, we get excited because that means it’s banana bread time. We’ve used so many recipes in the past, but I think I have figured out the best calculations to get the yummiest one yet.

Servings: 1 loaf  Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized bananas (around 2 cups mashed)

  • 1 tbsp. Vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp. melted unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp. Baking power

  • 1 tsp. Baking soda

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (white or whole wheat)

  • ½ cup of chocolate chips (milk or dark) (optional)

  • ½ cup of walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.

  2. Mash up bananas, and add the egg, sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Stir this until well combined.

  3. In another bowl combine the rest of the ingredients. When this is well combined add it to our first mixture.

  4. Fold the chocolate chips and walnuts in slowly. (optional)

  5. Pour the mixture in the greased 9x5” loaf pan (I lined mine with parchment paper too)

  6. I then slice a half banana and place the slices in the middle of the pan, it gives it a nice look. (optional)

  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, and to check if it’s ready, insert a toothpick and see if it comes out clean.

  8. Allow the pan to cool for around 10 minutes, and enjoy!
