Avocado Toast

Avocado time.

Supposedly, this is one of the trendiest foods these days. All the hippest cafes have this on their menu, but why not just make it yourself? It’s that easy! Avocado toast is packed with protein and healthy monounsaturated fat. Depending on the bread you use, you will have also be getting a bunch of vitamins and fiber. This breakfast is guaranteed on keeping you full for a couple of hours! I like making mine with an egg on top to get some extra protein in the morning, but you can totally skip that part.  Servings: 1 Total Time: 8 minutes  Ingredients:

  1. 1 avocado

  2. 2 slices of bread (I use multigrain)

  3. Two brown eggs (or white) (optional)

  4. 1 tbs. of olive oil

  5. ½ tbs. of black pepper

  6. 1-2 tsp. of lemon

  7. Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Toast two slices of bread.

  2. Cut the avocado in half, removing the pit and then scooping the avocado from its peel in a bowl.

  3. Mash up the avocado, so that it’s like a spread (should not be too mixed or liquid-like).

  4. Add the olive oil, black pepper, lemon, and salt.

  5. Spread your avocado mixture on both slices bread.

  6. Place a skillet on medium heat with a little bit of olive oil.

  7. Crack an egg carefully in the skillet, making sure the yolk doesn’t break.

  8. Leave a lid on the skillet until the white part has set, but the yolk is still runny (around 2 minutes).

  9. Then you can slide an egg on a slice of bread.

  10. Repeat to make another egg for your other slice of toast.

  11. Enjoy :)
